Rakeback Poker

The Merge Network found its roots in 2006 when it was merely a stand alone website Poker.com from this starting point the site has continued onwards and grown into the Merge poker network. The network is one of few networks which has remained friendly to US players and has managed to keep its doors open to them over the years. In addition Merge offers rakeback promotions for all its players along with many other promotions. The Merge network is one of the lower performing networks in terms of traffic although it does allow US players and has some of the best software on the market.

The main strengths of the Merge network are the acceptance of US players, Merge rakeback and VIP promotions and the software. If you want to know more about this, check out Rakeback Poker

It would seem strange to anyone first arriving to the network as to why there seems to be such a lack of traffic when compared to other networks and considering the large number of advantages for players when playing at Merge. However this remains the case and it is difficult to understand why when considering the fact that Merge accepts US players and it has some of the easiest software out there to multi table with. Whilst a dark picture of Merges traffic has been painted here it is not all doom and gloom, Merge can and regularly does support high stakes games all the way up to $200NL, however the contingent of regs present is large so don't be expecting to see many new faces if you play there regularly.

Even with Merge rakeback and some of the other exciting offers present on the network many players find that due to the lack of fish the network and large amount of sharks that the network is difficult to play.

One explanation for the problem is that the benefits that Merge offers are the benefits seasoned regular players would like in terms of software and promotions however these offers have worked to the extent whereby players attracted to the Merge network tend to be full time players who multi-table and earn rakeback but at the expense of creating a network which is full of sharks and not so many fish. This in turn has created a problem in terms of traffic as players move to other more fishy networks to play even if it is at the expense of lesser software and promotions.

On the plus side Merge has many attributes which make it an extremely exciting and comfortable place to play online poker. Features such as full table customization, full compatibility with PC and MACs and full compatibility with HEM and PT3 make the network and innovative and comfortable place to play. Additionally there are still many fish to be found on the network with the influx of American players allowing Merge to maintain relatively solid levels of traffic at peak times.

All in all the Merge network is the industry's underachiever, the network has many of the core components of a great network already worked out and to some extent this is its downfall in terms of attracting the professional players more successfully than the casual players. However with this in mind the network provides great software and great levels of compatibility across the board therefore making it a great network to play on for any serious player, just as long as they are prepared to be a little patient when going fishing.
